Housing spanners, mounting brackets, food-safe grease, PTFE tape, drain saddles and the other small items every filtration job needs.
Filtration installations fail at the small parts more often than the big ones. The housing spanner that did not come in the box. The food-safe silicone grease nobody applied to the O-ring, which is why the housing cannot be opened a year later. The bracket that was not fitted, so the housing hangs on the pipework and slowly works the joints loose.
None of these cost much and all of them are worth having before you start. The single most useful item is the correct housing spanner for your housing — they are not universal, and a strap wrench on a wet plastic bowl is how housings get cracked.
The second most useful is food-safe silicone grease. Petroleum-based grease degrades rubber O-rings and does not belong anywhere near drinking water.
