WaterFilterInstallers.com is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@waterfilterinstallers.com.
Postcode searches
When you enter a postcode into the hardness checker or the installer search, it is sent to Postcodes.io to look up the location. We log the outward code only — the first half, such as CB2 — together with a timestamp, so we can see which areas people are searching for and prioritise finding installers there.
We do not store the full postcode, and we do not associate any postcode with your identity, an account or an advertising profile. Lawful basis: legitimate interests, namely understanding demand so we can build the directory where it is needed.
Enquiries to installers
When you send an enquiry to an installer, we pass your name, contact details and message to that installer so they can reply. We keep a copy for 12 months to handle disputes and to detect misuse.
The installer becomes an independent data controller for the information you send them, and their own privacy practices apply to it. We are not able to control what they do with it. Lawful basis: performance of a service you have requested.
Installer registrations and claims
Information submitted through the registration or claim forms is stored so we can review, verify and publish a listing. Business contact details are published on your profile — that is the purpose of the listing. Verification documents are stored separately, are never published, and are deleted once verification is complete or the claim is rejected.

Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics that do not set cookies, do not track you across sites and do not build a profile of you. There is no advertising network on this site. Because we set no non-essential cookies, there is no cookie banner — which is how it should be.
Amazon links
Product links go to Amazon carrying our affiliate tag. Once you follow a link you are on Amazon's site and Amazon's privacy notice applies. Amazon sets its own cookies to attribute the sale. We receive only aggregate commission reports and never learn who bought what.

Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to our processing of it, and to data portability. Email hello@waterfilterinstallers.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Sharing
We share enquiry details with the installer you chose to contact, and nothing else with anyone. We do not sell data, we do not sell leads, and we do not share anything with advertisers.
